Essex Holdings Inc. announces approval for Project SS-Xavier by the Chilean Environmental assessment agency.
July 16th 2012: Essex Holdings Inc. has today announced that the companies mining project (Project SS-Xavier I) based in the Atacama region of Chile is now approved by the Environmental agency to begin the extraction of 200,000Mt of high grade iron ore per month. The final approval by the Environmental Assessment agency (DIA Approval) was announced on June 15th at the meeting held in the presence of The Honorable Mayor of the Atacama region (Mr. Hector Volta Rojas (PRSD), where it was declared by unanimous vote of 12-0 that the companies mining project SS-Xavier I was approved under Resolution Number 130.
Essex Holdings are one of the very few foreign companies who have been successful in prevailing the DIA approval within a 12 month period; supported by the local authorities and agencies Essex Holdings were given approval without contest from any department.
Dr. Navin Xavier, President and CEO of Essex Holdings Inc. went on record this morning as saying “the group as a whole has worked very hard to ensure that we meet all the regulations as set forth by the authorities in Chile and we are very pleased to be a part of the region’s growth. My special thanks go out to the Mayor of Chanaral and to the local and regional authorities”.
The company is now set to begin extraction operations within the next 30 days.
